Linda Jackson's trophy, 1967
Metal, maker unknown, Parkdale, Victoria
Lent by Linda Jackson
Jackson was introduced to the performative power of dress through dance costumes.
I loved calisthenics and won the Most Graceful Girl trophy wearing a dress I made ... I loved the costumes, dancing and the performing aspect, and I ad-libbed my routine as well. I think it taught me that if I just be myself and do my own thing, I'll be fine.
