'Zen Gold Waratah Bush Kimono' outfit by Linda Jackson, 2000-2010

With Kesa Cloth, natural dyes, gold paint, waratah stencils and calico, Kandos, NSW, and Port Douglas, Queensland

Lent by Linda Jackson

Over a span of ten years, Jackson created this outfit inspired by Buddhist monks robes and made of patched pieces of textiles, re-dyed and stitched together with prayers.
The act of making the tiny stitches was a meditation in itself and represented the concept of wabi-sabi - finding beauty in imperfection.
