With artist Peter Tully and partner Fran Moore, Jackson travelled through New Guinea and Asia, studying and absorbing the styling and traditions of local textiles and dress. While in Europe, Jackson examined the haute-couture designs of Chanel and Dior. Back in Australia, she created work combining in hybrid style her interest in haute couture and customary dress.
